History

The Society for Technologically Advanced Materials of India (STAMI) was established in 2006 at Nagpur, Maharashtra, India under the leadership of Prof. Ram Pal Tandon, the then Professor & Head- Dept. of Physics & Astro Physics, Delhi University-India. Its founder secretary Dr. Kishor Rewatkar, is Professor and Principal of Vidya Vikas College, Samudrapur, Dist Wardha, associated to RTM Nagpur University-India. Its other executive members are Dr. Debashish Bhowmick, Professor an Principal, Smt. Rajkamal Tidke College, Mouda, dist Bhandara and Dr. Mohan Giriya, Principal, Chintamani College, Gondpipri, dist. Chandrapur and others from academic fraternity from various nationally reputed institutions of India. It is also supported by Executive members from various industries and abroad.

Objective

Society for Technologically Advanced Materials, India (STAMI) was formulated on the STS (Science, Technology for Society) movement which has a long history in scientific educational reforms and embraces a wide range of theories about the intersection between science, technology and society. The Executive Committee Members of STAMI are hardcore academicians and with a purpose to serve humanity have joined hands together for an International cause of peace and progress through disseminating knowledge.

STAMI so far

To continue our trust for scientific and academic endeavor STAMI has successfully carried out many scientific research projects in India. In a row STAMI have conducted many International Conferences, Seminars and Workshops for students and scientific fraternity in India and a few International conferences abroad.

Major activities and services of society include :

  • Spread of research culture amongst teachers.
  • Inculcate research aptitude amongst young researchers.
  • Creation of union of databases of resources available in academic and scientific industries which will support in academic pursuit and openly accessed by any scientific community.
  • Promote scholarly communications between India and Abroad.
  • Exchange of scientific ideas.
  • Joint collaborative research projects.

 It is matter of immense pleasure to put on board that STAMI has successfully organized three International conferences in collaboration with the native University / Educational Institutions,

 

  • First International Congress on Science & Technology for Society with a theme: Sustainable Biodiversity Conservation through Biotechnological and Social Approaches, May 23-25, May 2014 at Bangkok, Thailand
  • Second International Conference on Science & Technology for Society (ICSTS-2015), May 11-13, 2015 at Colombo, Sri Lanka.
  • Third International Conference on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development (ICSTSD-2016, May 24-26, 2016 at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

 

Forth coming International Conference on Technologically Advanced Materials and Asian Meeting on Ferroelectricity (ICT-AMF-2016), Nov 07-11, 2016 at Delhi University, Delhi

 

Further in continuation to this movement, STAMI have planned to organize an International Conference on Science and Technology: Conservation of Nature for Sustainable Development (ICST: CNSD-2017) at Mauritius in the last week of May 2017. The international organizations/institutions, Malaysian Association of Solid State Sciences (MASS), Malaysia; and the University of Peradeniya, Kandy, Sri Lanka, and National university/ Academic Institutions viz. Department of Physics and Astrophysics, University of Delhi, Departmrnt of Physics, Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, RTM University, Nagpur, SGM University, Amravati, Gondwana University, Gadchiroli, Sandeep University, Nasik, Saurashtra University, Rajkot, IIT, Mumbai, BITS, Ranchi, Visweshwareya Technological University, Bangalore,  Priyadarshani Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jhulelal Institute of Technology, Dr. Ambedkar college, Nagpur have extended their acceptance in participating as one of the organizers in ICST:CNSD-2017.

STAMI hereby take this opportunity to propose for holding the International Conference on Science and Technology: Conservation of Nature for Sustainable Development (ICSTSD-2017) at Mauritius and seeking the privileged association with JSS Institute of Advanced Technology, Mauritius and Department of Nanotechnology, Center for Post Graduate Studies, Viswesvaraya Technological University, Bengaluru Region, and many more academic institutes of basic science and engineering and technological academies from India.
